What is the design process to make my designer chuppah?

Our design process begins with having you complete a questionnaire regarding the important details of your wedding. Once all information is gathered we will contact you to further assess your needs and then provide you with a design proposal that includes pricing, a sketch of what your chuppah will look like, and fabric swatches for approval. We will also provide you with an order agreement that once signed, will initiate production of your chuppah.

How long will it take to create my designer chuppah?

Once we have determined the style, fabric and finishing details for your chuppah it takes 8-10 weeks for Studio Chai to create your chuppah.

How many fabric swatches can I receive for my fabric selections?

Studio Chai is happy to provide you with a couple of fabric swatches with your initial design proposal. Typically this would include the main fabric for your chuppah as well as a contrasting color sample. If multiple swatches are required, a small fee may be charged.

Can I provide my own fabric?

Studio Chai offers such a wide variety of fabrics that we’ve found it is more cost-effective for our customers to select from the fabrics we offer. However, if there is a particular fabric you have in mind, we can probably get it for you, as we’ve established accounts with major fabric manufacturers nationwide.

Are the styles you show on your website the only types of chuppahs you provide?

The styles on our website are merely suggestions. Studio Chai custom creates each individual chuppah and is pleased to come up with a custom design to reflect your taste and desire.

Are the chuppahs you offer free standing, or can they be carried down the aisle as part of the ceremony?

Studio Chai chuppahs are free-standing to ensure stability and maintain the integrity of your design. With a chuppah already set up in place there is one less thing for you to worry about. The stage is set, awaiting the arrival of the stars of the show, the two of you.

We have found that chuppahs that are carried are more likely to be pulled apart inadvertently, compromising the structure and the design of the chuppah as you’ve intended. Some people that chose to carry their chuppah down the aisle like to place flowers and other embellishments around the chuppah poles, often to cover them up; our chuppahs are designed to never show the structure, just the free-flowing or tailored fabric covering the structure beneath.

What are the dimensions of your chuppahs?

All of our chuppahs are built to be 8’H x 8’W x 8’D.

We find this size is ideal, as it allows for plenty of room beneath the canopy for the bride, groom and rabbi as well as any ceremony items (Kiddush cup, wine bottle, kettubah). At 8 feet everything is still fully visible when one wishes to photograph the ceremony. If you feel this height is too low for you, we can accommodate to an adjusted height if necessary. Additional charges will apply for extra fabric.

When must payment be made for my chuppah?

Studio Chai requests payment of 50% of the final amount be paid upon placement of your order. The remainder is due at time of shipping.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Studio Chai uses Paypal, which allows all forms of credit card payment including Visa, Master Card and American Express and debit Cards bearing a Visa or Master Card logo.

What if I need to cancel my order?

Orders may be cancelled within 3 days (no more than 72 hours) of order placement, and must be received by phone or voicemail to: (623) 628-3013. After this period, any orders to be cancelled will be charged the full price, and payment will be due within 8 weeks of order placement.

Do you accept returns?

Studio Chai provides a proof during the design phase, for your approval. Once approval is provided, and the chuppah is completed, we do a complete quality check prior to shipping, ensuring all fabric and structural pieces are included and in the best condition. Returns are not accepted.

Do you offer expedited service?

We understand some weddings are planned in a shorter time frame than others, and you may need your chuppah sooner. Contact us by phone and we can discuss the possibility of expediting a chuppah to you in a shorter amount of time. Rush orders are subject to surcharges.
